The government's plan was included in the Union Budget of 2016 and its goal was to create around 40,000 jobs across the country. Water ATMs are very beneficial for travelers. They will now be able to fill the water on the station premises and avoid buying expensive packaged water. At the same time, this ATM also encourages the use of destroyable items which will reduce the use of plastic.

The price of one litre of water at the water ATM will be Rs. 5. They dispense water in different quantities 300 ml, 500 ml, 1 litre, 2 litres and 5 litres. If you want a plastic cup at the same time, then you have to pay 1 rupee extra for it. The interesting thing is that people will be able to use BHIM app or PayTM app for such a small payment.
