You may have to wait a little longer to see the delivery of your goods or food by drone. Actually, the Aviation Ministry has issued a drone policy on Monday. In this, the commercial use of drone technology has been approved since December. At present, the government has approved the line of sight drones. However, this condition can also be removed in the coming time.

The government has divided drones into five categories: nano, micro, mini, small and large. These range from less than 250 grams in weight to over 150 kg.

- Nano category (under 250 g) won't need security clearance.

- Micro category (250 g to 2 kg) will get approvals in 2 days.

The drone of all categories except for the first two categories i.e. nano, micro (250 g and 2 kg) will be registered. Then their unique identification number (UIN) will also be issued. Exemptions have been given to the first two categories because they are used by children to play.

Drones can be used for photography, medical uses, ad film making and so on. E-commerce companies should be able to use drones as well. Air-rickshaws or passenger drones can also be considered under this policy.

Some rules have also been made to get the license of the drone:

a. The age should be 18 years

b. Should be studied up to Class X

c. English for drones is also important.

d. Also some areas have been declared 'no fly zone'. This includes the airports near the International Border, Vijay Chowk, Secretariat, Military Area etc.

Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha said on the occasion that for the time the line of sight has approved, the Beyond Line of Site Drones can be approved in the future.
