On the petrol pumps, you may have noticed that besides filling the fuel (petrol-diesel) there are some other services available for vehicles. Some of these services, as listed below, are mandatory to keep at all petrol pumps. However, in lieu of these services customers are not obliged to pay. We are giving you information about some similar services which you get for free at a petrol pump.

1. Air Filling Facility:

Customers are provided air filling facility in the tires of their vehicles on petrol pumps. This facility is provided free of charge. Therefore, the employees at petrol pump should not be paid for this service. The air checking in tire is also a free service, you can complaint if they ask you for money.

2. Toilets:

Free clean toilets are also available for everyone on the petrol pump. Not only sanitation is given importance here but light and water are also provided in the right way.

3. First Aid Box:

In the event of a road accident or a highway accident, you can take the first aid kit from the nearest petrol pump for the victim. Personnel of the petrol pump have the responsibility to keep updating the kit regularly and shall remove expired drugs from the kit.

4. Filter Paper Test:

If you are surprised by the low mileage of your vehicle or there is frequent break-down of engine, then the reason may be bad diesel and petrol. According to the Customer Protection Act, 1986, the petrol pump should keep filter paper in the stock. If the customer demands filter paper to check the adulteration in the fuel then the petrol pump cannot deny for it. All you have to do is put some drops of petrol/diesel on that filter paper. If it disappears without leaving the mark immediately, then you can be sure of its purity, but if the petrol filter leaves a mark or shadow on the paper in any case, then there are some tincture in petrol / diesel.

5. Five Liter Test:

On some petrol pumps, nozzle of dispenser is tampered. A few minutes of tampering can cost you between 100 and 150 ml of oil every time you fill the fuel. While filling fuel in your tank, Attendant places his finger on the nozzle and tries to stop the fuel continuously. In this way, you get a little less petrol and diesel than what you asked for. Through this fraud the petrol pump personnel save several liters of petrol every day. To avoid this, you should use the five liter test. Every petrol pump has Weight and Measure Certified five liter measure. If you have doubts, then you can fill the fuels by yourself. If it fills up to five liters of petrol, then you can rely on it.

6. Cash Memo:

Ask for a cash memo every time after fueling. So that you can know that the money you have been asked is at the same rate as the petrol pump's entry. You can complaint, if not provided.
