To assist Aadhaar card holders, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will start a new service from April, 2019. This will enable the Aadhar card holder to easily make changes to his address. This will help those who do not have the proof of local resident. The holder will get the facility of changing his address through just one letter and pin number. This information has been given by a UIDAI official.

A notification issued by UIDAI states that this proposed new service will be applicable from April 1, 2019. It is said in the notification that "Residents who do not have any valid proof of their current residence, they can request the verification of the address through the PIN code Aadhar letter. Once the person receives this letter, he can change the address on his Aadhar on the online portal through this secret PIN."

This new service of the Aadhar will benefit directly to those who live in rented houses or who live in other cities or places due to work. A UIDAI official said that before implementing this new service, it will be started as a pilot project.
